ConVic painting challenge
http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=112870
To me there's nothing better than seeing a game between two nicely
painted forces. To further encourage players to put paintbrush to
figures between now and Convic, one lucky player who is judged by an
independent and unbiased judge to have painted the best army between
now and the weekend of the tournament will win themselves one of the
awesome Privateer Press Extreme Sculpts! There may also be other
prizes if there are a number of good entries. Take a look in the
thread link and signup now!
FloodMachine
http://www.wargamerau.com/forum/index.php?showforum=358
With events all over and the raffle drawn, FloodMachine was a huge
success, with the overall banner of FloodWar raising over $8,000
towards combined flood relief efforts on the eastern seaboard!
Raffle
results were...
PP donated Gatorman Army major prize: Jay (NSW)
Defiant Gaming 35pt army: Rob Ansell (QLD)
Signed Chris Walton art print: Stephen Kelsall (VIC)
Deneghra or Sorcha mounted print: Kieren Moore (VIC)
Grotesque and Hex Hunters: Aron D (QLD)
Baldur the Stonecleaver: Brentan Shaw (VIC)
Mage Hunter Assassin: Daniela Kuckahn (SA)
Keep your eyes peeled for more charity events to come, including a
much bigger Brawl than Breast Cancer has ever seen down in Adelaide,
and Auscon's support of the QLD Cancer Council.

Oz Super Series
http://www.rankingshq.com/ozsuperseries/
Stolen shamelessly from the announcement thread on WargamerAU, the
team at Irresistible Force have been working behind the scenes with
Hall of Heroes and Realm of Legends to put together a new series that
will build on the burgeoning Warmachine & Hordes scene in Australia
and provide a fantastic new tournament championship.
Tickets for events are available through the RankingsHQ website
listed
above, with events in several states and possibly more to come.
Forum
chatter seems heavy on the Super Series, it should be a real treat.

FINAL WORD
Some low numbers for AUSCON have come as a bit of a surprise, with
more local players than attended on the day, but from all accounts a
great time was had. In the meantime the next big event on the
calendar seems to be ConVic, now fully booked for Day1 and with only 2
spots left for day 2 at the time of this email. Community discussion
lately has centered around the painting of armies, so ConVic is
slanting their scoring to painted over unpainted as the next step from
Tournament Points, and as with any great event has a slew of painting
prizes on offer. Get involevd if you're coming, and get in on your
chance to not only win a PP Extreme Sculpt, but to do yourself proud
on your hobby skills.
As always, PLAY LIKE YOU'VE GOT A PAIR.
Regards,
Terry Masson
