Working one day and not responding in another

We had our quadcopter flying this morning, but since then we haven't been able to get it off the ground. Our major malfunction is that when attempting to do a full firmware reset we're seeing that OpenPilot is unable to contact the flight controller using either our Mac running OSX 10.7.5 or a PC running Windows 7. We've tried both the most recent version of OpenPilot and the most recent version of LibrePilot and we're kinda at an impasse here.

We ran into that problem at the workshops. 

While the board is not connected to the computer. Start the update (click the update button). After the update starts (bars will start filling up in the progress window) then plug in the usb cable connecting the board.
