Hey all,
Quick reminder that the interest meeting for establishing a "free school" in Seattle will take place
tomorrow:
Sunday, September 18
5:00 pm
Autonomia (600 24th Ave. S)There will be food and discussion, so come to take part in both! If you can't make it but want to stay informed, just write back with a quick note and we'll include you on future notices.
Hope to see you then,
Chris
PS. Copied from the first email, here is the outline again (modeled on
http://la.thepublicschool.org/ and others like it):
1) Anyone can
propose a class, 2) anyone can say that they are interested in meeting
up for it, 3) one person volunteers to make sure it happens and
facilitate, 4) the class is scheduled with a definite time and location,
sometimes with more than one meeting, and 5) the class becomes real in
person. A rotating committee acts to moderate the class proposals, which
can be for a reading group on an idea or theory, a training on
anti-oppression or organizing tactics, a teach-in on software, or a focus group to carry out an art project.
