Hey Everyone,
It's been a couple weeks since we've met up.

I've gotten a few messages wondering if we're having a seminar meeting these past few Saturdays- perhaps due to there being no reminders or updates being sent out on the googlegroup.

Explanation for the silence: when we met up to discuss "Is Paris Burning?" attendance was dismal.  Seeing as the following weekend preceded Finals Week, we figured it just didn't make sense to try to have a meeting the Saturday before UW's finals and it would be better to resume either during spring break or once the new quarter began.

Well- this is the first week of classes, and it is that time to decide:
what should we read? Do people want to discuss "Is Paris Burning?" or try something new?  Do people have any ideas for material to be read this Saturday, or any suggestions to add to the reading list?  Poetry suggestions?

We can also look at this new quarter as an opportunity to offer new ideas to the seminar, concerning meeting structure and the seminar's potential (what we want to see come out of it, how it can be more fulfilling, etc.).

I have some ideas of texts to read in this next weekend, but I really want to wait and see for input on what people want to read this Saturday.

For some guidance, here is a link to the resource list: http://antechambercollective.wordpress.com/independent-seminars/
(We are around Stage 3, going into Stage 4 soon)

Reply (all) and share your thoughts!

Talk to you soon,
Pamela

I've been reviewing my eco-feminist literature to find some good pieces for discussion, but will need more time. Liberation theology could also be promising since it is a place where class struggle overlaps with feminist spiritual paths. For this Saturday, I'd be down to discuss Is Paris Burning. Or anything.

I vote for "Is Paris Burning." The meeting is at 5, right?
