Hey Everyone,
Two weekends ago, I and a few other people got together to meet for potentially having more Anti-Colonial Seminars. A few people have approached Chris and I saying they would like to re-start it. We had a brief meeting two weeks ago but it was on such short notice I didn't have a chance to send it to the list-serve. Near the end of the conversation we decided to meet again in two weekends (this Sunday).
It would be great if we could have a meeting this weekend, but someone recently brought to my attention that this might be bad timing, considering we are nearing finals week and the pressure is mounting. What do you guys think....? It would be great if you could re-ply (all) for some input.
It'd be really exciting if we could meet this weekend. But next weekend (and even waiting until January) is fine too. The main thing is: having some Anti-Colonial Feminisms meet-ups/conversations/hang outs/whatever brought up once again. Conversations, guys. Words. Very exciting.
Anyways, if you're interested, you should come to our new time. We decided to move it from Saturday to
Sunday at
three pm, because it generally seems like a more flexible day. If you guys have other suggestions, please reply, or if you're able to, come to our meeting and so we can talk about some other options. As usual, its held in the
Back-room of Cafe Allegro, but again this is negotiable (Chris had suggested maybe doing it at the Occupy Seattle camp in somehow?).
The last thing is, what would people be interested in reading? That's a question that we decided to be answered as the days went on. We still have that
great syllabus online which we've been through about half of, but I think some of the links are dead (if not all?). During our meet-up we decided on throwing out suggestions to this e-mail/e-mail group for anything you are interested in reading in this group. If you need some ideas feel free to use the syllabus linked above for some direction. I wouldn't mind scanning what people seem enthusiastic about.
Hope to see you guys soon!
Pamela
