We’re concluding the transition to Chrome Manifest V3 with the removal of all remaining Manifest V2 extensions from the Chrome Web Store on August 31, 2026.
You are receiving this notice because you currently have one or more Manifest V2 Chrome extensions published on the Chrome Web Store.
What this means for you
Key changes:
On August 31, 2026, all Manifest V2 extensions will be removed from the Chrome Web Store.
Potential impact:
- Removal from the Chrome Web Store: Your Manifest V2 extension(s) will be removed from the Chrome Web Store on the date specified above. You will receive an email notification as soon as the removal is completed, after which the extension(s) will no longer be discoverable or available for installation or updates.
- Implications for current users: Installed Manifest V2 extensions will remain enabled on Chrome 138 or earlier.
- Access to the extension: Your extension will remain accessible on your Chrome Web Store developer dashboard. However, we strongly recommend that you export relevant metrics and any other critical developer information tied to your extension before August 31, 2026.
What you need to do

- Migrate to Manifest V3: To keep your extension active and available to users, you must migrate to Manifest V3. Please ensure sufficient time for the updated extension to undergo the review process.
- Export metrics: Export relevant metrics and other critical developer information tied to your Manifest V2 extension.
