Ethnographic Field School in Belize - June 14-July 13, 2022
Community-based research coupled with ethnographic methods training in Belize, an English-speaking country in Central America!
Experience Belizean culture for one month doing ethnography!
Be a part of a community-based research project on agricultural development within northern Belize farming communities!
Develop skills in ethnographic methods of data collection!
Collaborate on an original ethnographic field report, which may lead to presentations at regional, national and international conferences as well as publications!
In addition to conducting community-based research, students will visit the Belize Zoo, Banquitas House of Culture, Cuello's Distillery, Lamanai Maya Ruins (via boat on the New River), Nohoch Che'en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve (Cave Tubing), and more!
Base Program Price: T.B.A. (it was $3,999 last year; includes ground transportation, accommodations, breakfast, dinner, and excursions; price varies due to early application deadline and optional transcript request, see below for more information)
Group Travel Price: T.B.A. (it was $700-900 last year; estimated price round-trip air transportation)
Tuition: Waived! Optional transfer credit to another institution, $100.00 transcript fee (check with your institutional transfer fees, if any).
Early Application Deadline: Early February 2022 (application fee of $150.00, towards base program price, thereby reducing the overall cost of the program by $100.00)
Application Deadline: Late February 2022 (application fee of $250.00, towards base program price)
