REMINDER: Tonight, Tuesday March 7 at The BookMark Shoppe in Bay Ridge, we present the poetry of Diane Block!
Our featured poet for the month of March will be Diane Block.
Diane is a professional classical violinist who received her training at the Manhattan School of Music, with a Master’s Degree in Violin Performance. It was at MSM that she developed an interest in Romantic and Modern Poetry. This interest was shared by close musician friends at monthly musical and poetry salons. Diane has featured her poetry at all the major poetry venues in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island. She is married to the poet Bernard Block and together they have co-featured in Philadelphia, Laugharne, South Wales and NYC. Eight of her poems have been published in the prestigious European on-line literary journal "Levure Littéraire No. 9". Diane and cellist Terry Batts comprise the violin/cello duo "Gemini Journey", often accompanied by Fred Simpson on percussion. They have performed at Cornelia St. Café, Nassau County Museum of Art, Heckscher Museum and many libraries in NYC and Long Island.
Following Diane's reading will be the open mic.
