I've just worked through Chapter 22 of Julian's JutohBook and successfully created my first ODT version of a book that I've previously published as Kindle.

The book has endnotes. When opened in LibreOffice the Jutoh endnotes come across as text and LibreOffice makes a second "real" set of endnotes. I can get around this by deleting the endnote text that was supplied by Jutoh, but I wonder if there's a way to prevent this from happening.

Any help appreciated.

Ron

Hi Ron,

I'm not sure why this is happening - if you can compact and send me the Jutoh project file, I'll check it out.

Thanks,

Julian

Hi Ron,

Refreshing my memory about this, endnotes are unsatisfactory in LibreOffice because it's not possible (AFAIK) to specify where the LibreOffice-generated endnotes end up - they are put in a new page at the end of the document, with no heading. I could have Jutoh find the Endnotes heading and delete the text after it, but the actual generated endnotes may end up divorced from that section.

So, when using endnotes with LibreOffice, it may be better to keep the Jutoh-generated endnotes by editing your configuration and clearing "Special footnote formatting". This will disable LibreOffice-generated endnotes.

Regards,

Julian
