Julian (or anyone),

I don't think this has happened before but when I compile this book into Word (Open Office) some of the direct formatting (bolded subtitles) are stripped of the bolding. I know I should use a style on them but since I got this material from several sources (it's a compilation) it was easier to just import and leave the subtitles in bold so I didn't have to go through and redo the subs with a style.
Is there a setting I'm missing in the compile config? I looked but didn't see anything.
How do I prevent the compile from stripping out some of the bold?
Best,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Sorry to hear that. If you can send me a sample project file, I'll try to reproduce it here.

Thanks,

Julian

Hi Mark,

My messages don't seem to be getting through to you - please check your spam folder.

Here's my reply about the project file you sent me.

All well here, thanks, although it's been raining for what seems like weeks.

Thank you for the file - unfortunately I didn't understand your instructions for identifying text that lost bold formatting. Perhaps you can point to some specific text.

Thanks,

Julian

Julian,

I've responded - you don't see to be getting my emails. One thing may be this other gmail addy that's new to me. But I have actually sent to both that one and the one I normally send to and...?

Anyway, I'm pasting the last email I sent here. Hope you get it.

Best,
Mark

Sending again:

In the book this looks like this:

   MY PERSONAL JOURNEY TO WELLNESS

My first introduction to myofunctional therapy was in the mid-nineties, during my pediatric dental residency training at the UCLA School of Dentistry and UCLA Center for Health Sciences, in Los Angeles. It was a two-hour lecture taught by Joy Moeller. Joy changed my life, and I am forever grateful. Joy’s lecture was an eye-opening experience...

All the bold subtitles are gone on compile.

Mark

Julian,

Thanks for your help. Here is the book.

The Contributor Appendix has a submission by Dr. Hang. The index title (left side) is Orthodontics. As an example, in that case the bolded subtitles are not transferred on ODT compile. Some bolded material is in the book, some not.

Appreciate you taking the time to look this over.

Hope you and Harriet are well.

Mark

Hi Mark,

I had problems with my mail server rejecting emails to me when sent from certain domains so am using my gmail address, but now even that seems to be having occasional problems.

Anyway, unfortunately I was unable to reproduce the bold-removal problem for "MY PERSONAL JOURNEY TO WELLNESS" and other subheadings. They display fine in LibreOffice on Windows 10. Note that this particular heading uses Bookerly, so if that's not installed on your system, it might be a problem.

Regards,

Julian
