Is there a way to import a new word doc into an already existing jutoh file?

I had formatted a book in Jutoh but then the author made a lot of changes, so it would be easier to start over, but I don't want to recreate all the styles and metadata and cover...

Thanks,
Christine

Hi Christine,

Yes - you can use File | Import | Reimport Project to keep metadata and (if I remember correctly) configurations and some other settings, but you may find that it overrides style changes. To help with that, you could export the styles to a file and later import them via Project Properties/Styles after you have reimported the Word file.

Alternatively, you could also save a copy of your Jutoh project before reimporting, then after reimporting, use File | Import | Import From Project. You can select your old project, and choose via "Import Options" which parts of the file you wish to import. You could click "Select None" and then "Style sheets". You can also import any other aspects that were changed during reimport such as the cover, though that might be preserved.

I hope this helps a bit.

Regards,

Julian
