Chinese fonts and other fonts

Hi there,

me again. I do have a problem which has nothing to do with Jutoh but maybe your software has function that could help solve it.

I don't know why but when I make an epub out of my manuscript the program did put chinese and greek fonts in the text - no matter what I tried to change it. Did not notice until a reader told me so.

Now I am afraid there could be more than one of those strange mistakes but as those fonts were different ones I cannot search for them  - well I can but it won't show me the others if there are any.

Is there a way in Jutoh to show me those mistakes? Don't know - maybe because they are not the fonts that are embedded? Although hmmm they do not need embedding they are in the book ...

Well just asking in case there is a function I could use.

Hello Andrea,
this is Michael from Germany.
First, you should check whether your ePub file contains these fonts. An ePub is nothing more than a ZIP container, and you can open it with WinZip, WinRAR, or any other zip program. Inside, you'll find a directory structure similar to the one you're familiar with in Windows. The OPS directory contains the FONTS directory, where all embedded fonts are stored.
This is the first step in the diagnosis.

nope they are not in there. Only those I used for title and chapter nothing else

But as I said this is not a mistake Jutoh made - I just want to find those mistakes. Looks like this btw:

And the original text is fine - there is nothing to find (for me). No hidden stuff or comments or hyperlinks or what else I thougt of. (Papyrus makes me often quite angry :D )

Hi Andrea,

Sorry to hear that - if you can send me the project or a sample of it, I'll take a look. If these characters are unintended, then I suspect deleting the text at this location and retyping it will fix it.

Hi Julian,

not your problem really and I fixed this one. It is a bug in Papyrus 12, found about 10 of those characters. Tried the same file with the Beta version of Papyrus and it was fine. But with the 'real' version I re-worked about 20 books and I am afraid there will be more of those. So I kind of hoped Jutoh would be able to spot them as they only appear in the epub-file. Sorry to bother you.

Oh, must have a look if I still got the broken one, worked the whole afternoon and might be I did not keep it. But will send it should I still have it.
