Hi Julian,

How can I replace all references to a Media object in a project?

Context:

I have a project that contains hundreds of small game descriptions. Each game is marked with 1-6 small icons, all of which are from a set of 6 different icons.

There are a total of 700+ icon references in the project.

To avoid having 700+ small images in the project, I imported the 6 icons as Media objects and then inserted them all in their places.

Everything works fine, all reference readers (Adobe Digital Editions, Sumatra, Calibre Reader, Epubor Reader) display the icons flawlessly, but during the final EpubCheck check, I got 728 error messages because there are spaces in the names of the 6 imported icons. (Unfortunately, this is how Illustrator exported them.)

Of course, I can import the six small icons without spaces, but how can I replace the names in the references without all kinds of painful and time-consuming manual work?

It would be a great help if you could assist me.

I can send you the project file, but only privately.

Best regards,

Serf Egyed

Hi,

Unfortunately Jutoh's Find & Replace doesn't extend to properties within objects, so I don't have a suggestion for doing this en masse. Sorry not to have better news.

Regards,

Julian
