Attention All PV Residents!
The election process for the Palo Verde Resident's Council is about to begin! The PVRC enables Palo Verde residents to participate in community decision-making process and exercise oversight over fund appropriations for community events, improvements, and so forth. Now is your chance to become more involved in your community!
A candidate's eligibility is contingent upon the following criteria:
-Residency in Palo Verde Housing since at least September of the current academic year
-Attendance of at least one public PVRC meeting
-Contacting the Election's Commissioner to announce intention to run by Friday, May 5th.
-Attending one PVRC information session (if unable to attend either session, please contact me before the deadline to obtain the necessary information):
—Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 at 6:00pm in the PV Lounge
or—Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 at 5:00pm in the PV Lounge
Residents interested in running for a seat must inform the Election Commissioner of their intent to run by
FRIDAY, MAY 5TH at 5pm. Any resident interested in running for a council seat may submit a Candidate Statement (max 250 words), also due by May 5th.
**CAMPAIGNING*** Campaigning rules are listed in detail in the PVRC bylaws (
https://sites.google.com/site/paloverderescouncil/policies-1), and can begin from the day the candidate statements are released to the community (May 8th) until the close of voting.
Candidates will also be required to attend a Candidate Forum (community meet and greet) on Thursday, May 11th 6pm-7pm (unless they have otherwise informed the Election Commissioner).
Voting will take place on EEE over 3 days between May 15 - May 19th. If you are a nonstudent resident of Palo Verde and would like to vote in the election, please see the instructions for obtaining a UCInetID at
http://www.oit.uci.edu/ucinetid/resnet/. Voting will also take place in person in the PV Office, as well as during tabling sessions in the community (Locations and Times TBA).
