Hello All,

This question is primarily intended for Laurence, but also for anyone who has had experience with dispersion plots and may contribute something to the discussion.

Is it possible to stack up dispersion plots on AntConc? My idea is to produce a normalized dispersion plot (of a given word/lemma/lexical bundle, etc.) for each one of the texts in a corpus and consecutively overlay one with the next to be able to easily detect high-density areas.  By doing so, I intend to see where in the texts the item in question tends to occur most frequently.  For instance, does it tend to occur early on in most texts or, perhaps, near the end?  Or, comparatively, does it tend to occur earlier on in the texts of Corpus A than in those of Corpus B?

I have done this using WordSmith, but in addition to how time consuming the process is, the plots don't include the texts that don't contain the item in question, which AntConc does.

Is there a way to produce such dispersion plots using AntConc?

Thank you,

Ángel

N.B.: For greater clarity, I'm including a screenshot of one of the examples on the WordSmith webpage.
