Problems downloading

My Mac had problems with getting the file to open. Usually, I got the error message "the disk image is corrupted" or unable to open because it can't identify the publisher.

Any help you could give me would be appreciated!

Hi Fred,

Can you confirm which version of AntConc you are trying to install? Also, can you say what version of MacOS you are using? I've heard reports that MacOS 15.4 (Sequoia) contains a bug that causes many Python-based apps (like AntConc) to not work properly, but I'm still trying to figure out if I can create a workaround as a developer.

I should note that AntConc is code-signed and notarized by Apple, so the problem is not because Apple cannot identify the publisher.

Dear Laurence,

Thank you so much for your efforts to get to the bottom of this.

1. MacOS Ventura, Version 13.7.5
2. I have tried both versions listed with MacOS

I will try again and give you the blow by blow. Note: These are different results than I got the other day.

MacOS 10/11-Silicon (2.1.0)

1. I'm prompted to save the file AntFileConverter.
2. When I click on the file, I have to agree to the terms.
3. Then, I'm asked to drag the file into my Applications folder.
4. When I try to open it, I get the message: "You can’t open the application “AntFileConverter.app” because this application is not supported on this Mac."

MacOS 10/11-Intel (2.1.0)

1. I'm prompted to save the file AntFileConverter.
2. I get the error message,“AntFileConverter.dmg” already exists. Do you want to replace it?" I click "Replace."
3. Then, I'm asked to drag the file into my Applications folder.
4. When I try to open it, I get the message: "You can’t open the application “AntFileConverter.app” because this application is not supported on this Mac."
