Hi there, I downloaded the MacOS 10/11-Silicon (4.3.1) version to my laptop and got the attached image.
When I double click on the AntConc symbol it opens up the software without installing it. If I double click on the Applications folder it opens up the folder, but the AntConc software isn't there.. I'm not sure what to do

Thanks for your help

Hi. On MacOS, you install apps by dragging the icon onto the Applications folder. Did you try this?

Hi Laurence, thanks for the quick response - I did drag the downloaded software onto the Applications folder but still get this image when I try to open it:

Hi,

Here's what you need to do.

1) download the .dmg file.
2) double click on the .dmg file (in the downloads folder). You'll see a window open as you have in your screenshot.
3) drag the AntConc *icon* into the Applications *icon* inside the window (as signaled by the arrow)

Now, you can go to the actual applications folder and launch AntConc.

This is the standard way to install *all* apps on Macintosh.

I hope that helps!

Laurence.
