AntConc stops when corpus is created on Mac

Dear Laurence,

A student and a colleague of mine are confronted with the same problem: as soon as they try to create a corpus (in the corpus manager or via 'quick corpus'), AntConc stops working. They installed the most recent version of AntConc and they work on Mac (Retina, 2018, version 12.6.6). Reinstalling AntConc didn't help (at least not for the student), and working with one text file only didn't help either.

Hopefully we're not overlooking a thread in this forum where this problem has already been addressed. The solutions we found so far (that's the reinstalling or using only one text) didn't do the trick.

Hi Astrid,

This problem is usually found on a Mac when you haven't installed the software in the normal way. Make sure that once you open the .dmg file, you drag and drop the AntConc application into the Applications folder as indicated in the install window. If you do this, everything should work correctly.
