How do I start using IRC to join the #ANSIBLE channel

Nothing I have tried for the last several hours has worked. I am new to ansible and really need a good foundation and support community, like I had with Puppet.
Can someone give me the first few steps spelled out explicitly? I am running Windows 10 on my laptop.
