Hi everyone. Have a look at Lightbulb if you haven't already:

https://github.com/ansible/lightbulb

This is the hands-on framework that the Ansible team uses for
workshops for customers, sales engineers, and so on. More and more,
when people ask me "what should we do for a longer meetup" I'm
pointing them to Lightbulb.

If any of you would actually like a longer session to go into
Lightbulb in more depth with its creators, please let me know and I'll
be happy to set up an online meeting sometime in the new year. We
really would like to get as many eyeballs on it as possible -- and PRs
as well. :)

Hello Greg,

I had a look at it and it looks very promising. But I decided to use my
own workshop, because the Lightbulb provisioner doesn't support KVM or
VirtualBox (yet) and I didn't have the time to create/fix that.

Presentation and ideas look very good.

Cheers,
TonK

Greg this is great!

We've been using a homebrewed workshop so far, which has suffered from lack of maintenance unfortunately.

Attaching here as it might have value for others:

Greg,

I like a lot the visual of the deck, very professional !

One downside of this workshop, the setup of Ansible is not demonstrated as everything has been pre-provisionned/configured.

We have been using our homebrewed workshop so far here too.  The first step of our workshop is a homework: an installation of 2 vms, ansible, ssh and sudo config and Tower.  We didn't want to automate that part as it act as an important learning step. I found out after having delivering 10+ this workshop that many participants are not so familiar with Linux, so this homework is a must in my opinion. For some workshop, we have even printed out a VI cheat sheet.

One advantage of using some vms instead of using Amazon : the participant has his own Ansible lab ready and he can start to discover Ansible before and can continue after the workshop.

BTW, I've been using http://strigo.io/ to do the workshops, it's pure gold, no need for attendees to have anything installed, just a browser, strongly recommend (no, I don't work there ;) ).

Thanks Bas!

And thanks to everyone for your feedback. Look for a follow-up email

Stay tuned, Bas. Having discussions with the Lightbulb team this week
on this topic.

Bas:

That would be my fault since I'm the primary maintainer of that project. Today is my first day back from being off that past 3 weeks and I'm trying to catch up across well... everything. Thanks for your patience.
