Announcement: Introducing Ansible Community Engineering Steering Committee

Hi Everyone,

We are happy to inform you that we are launching a Steering Committee for the Ansible Community Project. The committee members shall be broadly representative of the planning/approval area.  As it’s a brand new initiative for the Ansible Upstream Project, all the Steering Committee members are selected based on their active contributions to the Ansible Project. In the future, the selection process will be based on the election model through the community.

The Steering Committee will work with the community users and with other Ansible teams within Red Hat to assist in the composing of the idea proposal/new collection inclusion requests. Rather than advocate on behalf of particular interests or perspectives, the Steering Committee members’ jobs are to listen carefully to their fellow community members, discuss, train and help them to shape the Ansible Upstream Project in all possible ways that the community truly "owns.".

Public participation in the Ansible Community Meeting that happens on a weekly basis on #ansible-community IRC channel every Wednesday at 19:00 UTC is encouraged. To suggest topics and be informed of discussions you can subscribe to the Community Working Group Agenda on GitHub. The Steering Committee will afford all interested persons an opportunity to contribute and review and will also afford all interested persons an opportunity to speak on any idea.
