My son's new HP laptop has recently stopped playing sound from Chrome through the built-in speakers. Other apps still play sound, as do regular Windows sounds. It seems to be only Chrome that's affected. Additionally, when a headset is plugged in, Chrome plays sounds as it should. The only things that have changed in the last little bit are a couple of games installed through steam (unlikely to cause the problem as far as I understand things), and the fact that the computer was originally set up using Windows 10, but was recently upgraded through the windows installers to be windows 11. I have also recently updated another identical laptop in the same way for my younger son, and it does not exhibit the same issues.

I have tried all the most obvious fixes that I could, from adjusting Chrome settings, the volume mixer and allowed audio settings, to rebooting, updating drivers, and deleting/recreating previous potentially corrupted settings files. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome, but the problem persists. I'm sure there's something I missed, otherwise the problem would be fixed, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what it might be. Doing a factory reset/formatting the computer is not an option right now for reasons that aren't relevant to the issue at hand, but any suggestions or possible fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I recently got a Pixma MG2522 printer and im trying to get it to connect to my Chromebook. Which is not windows or mac. Hopefully you know what it is because im not good with computers. My printer does not connect to wifi of course. Ive tried to go to the website to download the software for the printer but its only for windows, Macbook, Windows rt, i believe. Im hoping someone can help me figure this out. it kind of weird. I believe when i plug the USB cord into my computer it shows up as a Canon MG2500 series (USB). I click on that and then it says Add Printer Manually. So I click Canon under "Manufacturer" but i dont see my printer option under Model. Which i assume the model is MG2522? or it says "or specify your own driver" which i dont know what that means. Please help....

Chromebooks do not use drivers to install printers. They use Google Cloud print. There are two methods of printing with Google Cloud print, using a Google Cloud Print ready printer or setting up the service on your computer.

Hi James, What if you can't do either one? I added my printer to another laptop I had, but now I got a new laptop & it's way different setup then usual so i'm not used to it. How do I set it up on this new laptop?

The only print option with a Chromebook is to use Google Cloud Print, which requires a network connection, and I'm afraid that the MG2500 series is USB only. A network-capable printer would be required. I regret any inconvenience.

Printing from a Chromebook requires a printer that can be connected to a wireless network. No drivers have been developed for the Chrome OS so, even if connected with a USB cable, it would be unable to communicate with your printer. I am not aware of any way to print from Chromebook to a USB printer.

A week ago, I pressed a weird combination of keys and all of the sudden my Jupyter notebook changed views. The scroll bars on the sides of each cell had quadrupled in size. I tried reverting it, but was unable to find a way. I then tried to close the note book, reset the notebook, uninstall/reinstall anaconda, to no avail. What ended up fixing it was unintalling/ reinstalling chrome. All of the sudden my view was back to normal- for a few days. It went back and now uninstalling chrome does not work.

Here are some screen shots of the notebook. The first is how the notebook looks right when I open it- extremely zoomed out. After zooming in, the scroll bars are huge and obscure most of the code in the cell, i.e., a block of code that was viewable without scrolling while the bars were normal now requires me to scroll up/down/left/right.

The cost of Chromebooks is lower than that of laptops. They are preferable for people who travel frequently because they are lighter and more portable than laptops. They are also ideal for folks who use their laptop for extended periods of time because they have longer battery lives.

Operating System: Chromebooks run on Chrome OS, which is a lightweight, web-based operating system that is optimized for browsing the internet and using Google apps. Laptops, on the other hand, typically run on Windows or macOS, which offer more flexibility and a wider range of software options.

Design and portability: Chromebooks are often smaller and lighter than laptops, which makes them more portable and easier to carry around. Laptops, on the other hand, may offer more advanced features like touch screens and higher-resolution displays.

Hello, Garrett. I just resolved the issue on my machine. It was related to a new "extension" in Chrome that was added by Bitdefender. Alternatively, you could also try using Chrome's Incognito window, which also worked for me.

Some full access extensions on chrome that can read/write data can be culprits, for me this was Grammarly. Try disabling your extensions and adding them back one by one to find the culprit. You don't need to uninstall the extensions, just right click and set them to read and change site data only when you click the icon.

Is it possible that Chrome needs an update? I've been stumped with that one before when using Collaborations - during a live webinar presentation! If that's the case here are some tips on how to do that. =GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

I have checked and my Chrome browser on my laptop is up to date with Version 83.0.4103.106 (Official Build) (64-bit). I have also tried reloading the page with the PDF, clearing the cache, and disabling my extensions but to no avail. My laptop OS is also up-to-date as well. Please let me know if there is a solution to this issue.

While not helpful in fixing the problem, it may be helpful to know you are not alone. I now have the same issue with previewing both .pdf and .docx files in SpeedGrader, which began within the past few days. I have been using a different browser as a temporary fix.

Last thing: web apps like Outlook, ToDo and Forms are loading ok. Those linked to onedrive (excel, onedrive, word, onenote) the page keeps loading, but does not shows error page or in console. Everything works in Firefox.

I've tried to enable all cookies, block third party in incognito (my default) and to enable under sites, checking "enable third party cookies". I've tried many combinations like [*.]teams.microsoft.com, teams.microsoft.com, .teams.microsoft.com, and so on, and still not loads.
Even without site permission, cookies from teams.microsoft.com and .microsoft.com are loading/saved in Chrome, just from .teams domain that are not appearing in the list (DevTools > Aplication tab)

Do you have Teams desktop client installed on the machine that you are facing this issue? Please confirm if you are encountering same issue with Teams desktop client. If so we can once try clearing Local Teams Cache under %appdata%.
