What do you see instead?
I would rather not have job object join channels.

What version of the product are you using? On what MU* Server?
I'm using Anomaly Job 6.5, Ashen's comsys and RhostMUSH Alpha version
3.9.2RL(A) patchlevel 1 #2

Please provide any additional information below.
If there is an easy fix for this, I'd love to know it.

I need more information on this issue.

All job creation does is create a new object. Are all new objects
auto-joined to channels on your game? This is apparently some sort of
incompatibility between jobs and Ashen's comsys, but without knowing more
about the comsys I don't know how to fix it.

Can you give me a link to documentation for Ashen's comsys?
