Reminder: Guild Freelancers meeting on Friday

We'll be meeting at the Guild Office, 433 Natoma Street, Third Floor at
4 pm on Friday Sept. 5, followed by drinks at the Chieftain. The office
is just off 5th Street, not far from the Powell St. BART station.
Parking is tight, though the 5th and Mission garage is an option.

We'll try and keep the meeting fairly concise: Agenda includes.
*Discussing and updating our Fair to Freelancer standards. As part of
that, we may do a survey to get a better sense of what various
publications are paying these days.
*Preliminary discussion of our all-day Spring Training workshops which
we expect to hold next spring. The last three have been very successful.
*Ideas for smaller, one-topic training sessions. Earlier in the year we
held an excellent session on self-publishing. What else should we consider?
*Discussion of new services, including a contract with a collection
agency to help freelancers who are being stiffed by publications.
