An update of Nevada, and help requested.

Recently I hit hard times and sold my computer, so I'm not able to
check my e-mail as often. But I did want to send out a messege of help
needed. Action needs to be taken, I've been in touch with PlaNevada
and a few ofther progressive organizations here in Reno. So let me
give you an update.



Jim Gibbons submitted today to the local Nevada Congress, to pass the
AZ law here in Nevada. It also has recieved HIGH support from the GOP
along with running for senate Sharon Angle. The local tea party and
the NSM along with other far right wing organizations are pushing for
the law to be past. Though there is a high community of Latino and
Filipino people here, there are many that are undocumented.

(I have no idea how to resolve this, and this is why I am asking for
help. I need a leader or organizer to help me get in touch with Other
organizations to unite the left, create a voice, and I ask that the
Events comitty help me with some sort of event to raise awareness.)



Sharon Angle is leadin in support of the Tea Party and other right
wing organizations and is as well ahead in the polls in support for
Senate. Her ideology is extream and as far right as it can go. She has
been questioned several times about her comments on limiting or
altogether getting rid of Social Security and Unemployment checks. Her
idea is to take money that is "saved" in those areas, and distribute
them to business owners. Taking away or even limiting it will
devistate MANY Nevadans. Section 8 houseing will take a huge blow
cuasing homeless rate to sky rocket (Including myself), Taking away
social security or even limiting based on area of living, will cuase
many, alot of hardships. Hunger will increase, and I'm sure deaths as
well, for lack of ability to recieve proper healthcare. Paying bills,
rent, and other commodities of human living will be cut in half.

(This is a great opportunity for the CPUSA to show that it is an
independent political party, and to show what we stand for by also
standing with other progressive organizations and standing for the
people... Though I dont know what to do, again I'm asking for help.)



Yesterday (July 22 2010) Sherrifs dept, evicted almost 20 people from
thier homes in a gated community. According to the Tea Party, and
right wing media (Reno Gazette Journal) Nevada's homeless numbers have
dropped, and jobs are on the rise... the truth couldnt be farther from
that. Tent city has (Since yesterday) increased at least 20 people,
and is now currently overflowing. Sharron Angle has made it MORE then
clear that she doesnt approve of giving tent city water, showers, or
resources to find work, and infact at one point (though no one really
took notice) wants to ban it altogether, and kick them out of the
area. Saying this ".. Its an eye sore, when you go to watch a baseball
game, you see homeless and the garbage of Reno. We shouldnt be
supporting this we should be condeming it, if they werent lazy then
they would be working." At one point the did send in police to disband
the area but Salvation army, and some of the residence themselves took
up, and didnt allow police through. Unsure of what they were doing,
but it was rumored that they were with CPS (Child protective services)
to look for children and arrest parents.



I'm having MAJOR difficulties, and ask that an organizor or the party
itself take notice to the hardships of Nevada and Reno essepcially. We
tend to get ingnored in the shadow of Las Vegas. To help me get in
touch with other progressives, fighting these in justices that are
only to get worse. Thank you Comrades for listening to my plight..
