Sorry for this avalanche of messages but...

I would like the answers to the following question.

Is it possible to organise articles into volumes and issues? Or at least years and months? If not, is this in the pipeline? I cannot seem to find anything about this in the documentation

Thanks
Andrew

Very interesting - I will give it a try - thanks - I presume that the annotum structure will not interfere.

cheers

Andrew

Adding support for 'collections' such as volumes or months has been suggested, and there's very limited support for this via article categories at present.

However, Gust's suggestion linked below is a very good and viable alternative - you would manually create a page or post with links to the relevant articles.  You could also link non-article posts (e.g. message from the editor).

Hi Andrew,

If You don't mind (No Spam... knowledge sharing...), I would like to
present You one of my multi-authors WP-Annotum blog "For a Better
World" http://gustmees.wordpress.com/2011/12/29/for-a-better-world-test/,
it's my "Test-Annotum-Blog" where I tried to play around a bit with
HTML and this blog is build with a lot of multimedia (the future
anyway, using visual...), it's actually an old knol who was migrated
to WP (a shame thet Google Knol will discontinue on Mai 01, 2012...),
but "c'est la vie..."...

I still need to work on it, making it better on the design... There
are still some adjustments to make... coming soon...

Also You might be interested on how I used the Tip on books which I
suggested to You:

It's in French, I use it to publish my French FREE courses about ICT
Security and these blogs participate also on the SID2012 (Safer
Internet Day 2012), as well as my blogs (in English...):

See also my curation about IT Security (EN, FR, DE) if interested:

On the English version I still need to do the same as on French blogs
with the "book" publishing, so You see the difference... In the next
days I will change it also so that it will look like a book...

One has the possibility also to choose not only an Index page, but
also for the different Topics... I don't yet using the Topics page,
coming soon... As I have to migrate +/- 250 knols (articles of
knowledge/knowledge units...) before May 01, 2012, so I migrate first
my knols manually to WP (single author...) and WP-Annotum (for multi-
authors...) and then when time allows it I will use the other option
as well... to make it looking much more professional and user
friendly... it's foreseen anyway...

PS: English is not my mother tongue, so hope I didn't make too much...

Have a nice day and best regards,
Gust

Hi there,

I came across Annotum yesterday and after having read about it I decided to give it a try for our upcoming project. We had opted for OJS but it is complicated and would require a lot of learning on behalf of our journal manager.

There was one issue of Volume and Issues in Annotum based projects and a brief search brought me to this thread.

Please allow me to suggest a wordpress plugin: Bulkpress. I have used it at another wordpress based website to create categories  titled "Volumes" with subcategories as "Issues". I then grouped individual articles according to the issue/volume.

However, there is an additional problem of index / table of contents that this plugin does not address. I think creating a spearate page for a volume containing links to child pages >> Issues should solve this problem. The child pages "Issues" can contain a table of content linking to individual articles.

I have not found any proper plugin for creating / reordering the pages so far. I will post here when I have found one.

Hope this suggestion is valuable.
Please let me know if I am wrong.

Regards.
