I'm looking for the RANSUM tool for ontology-neutral enrichment analysis but the links here

Direct me to here:

Which is currently hosting an annotation evaluation service.

Any ideas where the RANSUM service went ?

thanks

Hi Ben,

Try Statistical Tracking of Ontological Phrases (STOP),

http://www.mooneygroup.org/stop

STOP was developed by the same group that worked on RANSUM, STOP is an extension of that work. So if you have a list of genes or proteins STOP can generate a list of enriched terms which can then be filtered based on various ontologies.

Thanks Uday,

Is there any way to specify your own gene-related text and is there a programmatic interface to this tool (I don't see either option on the website).  My use case is a little atypical.  I'm hoping to use a service like this as a way of quantifying the gene-related information content/quality in a body of text.

I am not sure if you can do that, you mite want to contact eh...@buckinstitute.org for more information. I was part of the initial development but have moved on since then.

Sorry, wish i could be of more help.

You cannot input your own text in STOP.  Ransum sounds like it would meet your needs.  I have no idea what happened to it.

I agree, RANSUM sounded perfect when I read about it...

It looks like there is a re-direct error with the URL: http://ransum.stanford.edu. I've passed this along to our sysadmin to look into.

The issue with the re-direct is now resolved.
