happened to me lately that I would like to share with you...
1) I have always loved created my own egreeting cards for my friends... I
found this wonderful place by accident, you can submit your own work and
it's seen by the www and you have a chance to win prizes and get a small pay
for your work if enough people send out your card... so to date I've
submitted 3 cards, (my 4th of july card was submitted too late, but maybe
next year it'll get some hits) the latest is attached here for you to see,
and I'm including the url because you are all so creative you too may like
to give it a try, at the very least it's also a great place to find cards to
send to friends and help other artists in the process... you can search for

2) I recently acquired my own doman name for a web business, it's called Web
Majik.net not to be confused with .com... lol ... I'm in the process of
looking for affordable parking space, but while waiting I've started to
design my site and have it located at xoom (boy they take forever to load
lately)..... it looks plain to me after seeing all the beautiful sites you
all have created, but I hope it will generate some extra cash for me... as
well as html & graphics I also do computer repair and teach in home beginner
computer classes. I passed my A+ Computer Tech Certifications in Oct.
Would love to find a full time job doing that but well my age and lack of
job experience seem to be a drawback in the so. calif area considering how
saturated the market is here... let me know what you think of the page,

picture there using the moon frame that I snagged from here *S*... thank
you) in order to have some coding there... except for the 'graphics' link

3) Last by not least I've gotten my first truly commissioned job to design
a site's Logo, the concept and creation were solely at my descretion based
on the content of the site and his site was sooo ugly I've also convinced
him he needed help in changing his 'image'... lol... so as of now the main
page and index page is my design concept, although he did change my buttons
and mess them up, so I'm redoing them... that's what happens when you don't

someone that I didnt know from there. Seems spamming group membership lists
is a sure way to get the big bucks as this person did, cause you get paid
when someone sends a card that is picked up, but in the mean time while
looking around I spotted one of my works submitted by someone as their own.
They had taken my graphic and only erased my name from the lower corner and
added text to it. I did prove my case to the copyright agent for the site
and the image was removed. I never did get any satisfaction by addressing it
directly with the offender. Like I told them, if anyone is gonna make
money on my work, then it had better be ME!
All I can say is that when you submit a card to sayit.com you also hand
over your rights to your work. Also, please be sure you don't use
copyrighted images. Only submit original graphics that you create from
scratch. You will see a lot of stuff there with cartoon characters and
stuff, but the site owners say they claim no responsiblity for it as they
have it in the terms that it is the submitters responsibility to make sure
the stuff is original. So that does include tubes that you didnt create from
scratch unless you have the creators permission, since you are potentially
getting paid for your work.
Also, after getting that one card from there, the spam in my email
skyrocketed. So even though they say they don't sell email addresses...you
figure out the rest. Valid email addresses are worth big bucks.
Enough of my rants now. I just had to comment on sayit.com. I would not use
it due to the lose of rights to your image.

and man that sux ('cuse the language) that someone stole your stuff... I'm
glad you were at least able to have it deleted, I would've been livid...
it's something when someone uses a pic on their site, sort of a compliment,
but not when they put their name on your work... guess I was niave in
believing that there was a way to get some 'notice' for my work and bring
joy to others... oh well, you never know these things unless you get to talk
to someone else who's been through it... it's like the poetry contest I
entered and turned out to be bogus... poety is a piece of someone's heart &
soul and it was devasting to learn that lesson.. *S*.... Thanks again

the training and knowledge for computer repair...sure wish I had that tucked
