scripting well enough to scroll them once they're made. (The only script I
can use at all moves the entire strip; it doesn't allow for a separate
background. Oh well, maybe some day.....)

Thanks so much Sandy! I'm attaching the script you can use. You have to
know the dimensions of your gif, and write in the name of your background
file. Also write in the name of your gif. If you open this htm in oe and
click the source tab, you can see the parts you'll need to edit.
The jpgs and midi etc, are in blue and red. Some of the other things you'll
need to edit are in red too. Just look for jpg and gif. and mid. and
change the names to the name of the file you wish to use.
