Hey! I got STRONG shoulders Dianne... us Southern women do!

Bless you Dianne... cannot be an easy decision. From this
end of the computer line though, it sounds like the right
one. He has enough stress right now. Dealing with grief is
difficult enough without stress. Plus, he'll have the
strength of you and his family when he's told. Being
overseas is lonely enough, but loneliness, with stress and
grief is a LOT for a 25yo to handle... period.

My thoughts for a safe return of your son, and healthy grief
and healing for her family and yours. A true tragedy
indeed, and a loud reminder that we all need to be a bit
more careful out there on the highways.

God speed!
:o)

I'd like to thank all of you for your wonderfully supportive
comments about my TOW "guardian angel" series.

Today, sadly, I had to attend the funeral of a beautiful 25
yr. old young woman. She was the daughter of a friend of
mine and a close friend of my 25 yr. old son. They went
through middle school and high school and graduated
together. Susie was well-loved by everyone who knew her.
She was killed suddenly in a car/truck accident on the
highway last Wednesday. The funeral was one of the saddest
things I have ever witnessed.

Another sad thing has to be faced. My son is in London this
summer studying International Law through a program at Notre
Dame Law School. This is his last week. He faces 3 exams
in three days. We decided with a lot of advice from friends
not to tell him about Susie's death over the phone while he
is alone in London. He couldn't come home or do anything
about it they all said. When he returns home this coming
Saturday, we have to tell him about his friend's death. I'm
dreading it. I hope we made the right decision.

Don't know why I'm burdening all of you with this. I can't
sleep after such an emotionally draining day and I just
needed to vent my feelings. Thank you all for allowing me
to use your shoulders.

Dianne
