ST7796 Display issue

Hi there,

I'm using an ESP32 running 1.41b5 and have proplems with a ST7796 display 480*320. It does NOT run with the ST7796 driver (shows only a white surface) in the config page
Now it becomes curious:
Switching to the ILI9341 driver it shows some strange behaviour:

The 320*240 start page appears, but wrong orientation and wrong colours .  It's not possible to calibrate the touch. As the display does "something" more or less useful, i suppose it is not damaged.

Has anybody encountered the same problems?

By the way, the display ist just the same as mentioned in help , version Esp32 1.41b5.

Plugging in a ILI9341 Display everything is fine.

I just confirmed on one of my units that the ST7796 works well with the version 1.41B5.

There are several possibilities linked to your problem :

- You made an error in the wiring  

- You didn't jumpered the J1 solder zone on the display (it is required to make it work at 3.3V)

- The display is not an ST7796 but something else (ex. ILI9486 that is supported or the ILI9488 that is not)

The problem is that you never rely on the seller to receive the display with the right chipset
