Hi everybody,

I'm just starting to work with ANarchy and try Izhikevich model netowrk from tutorial (https://annarchy.readthedocs.io/en/stable/example/Izhikevich.html). I cannot find equations for g_ext and g_inh and how it was set in start simulation.

Izhikevich = Neuron( parameters=""" noise = 5.0 a = 0.02 b = 0.2 c = -65.0 d = 2.0 v_thresh = 30.0 """, equations=""" I = g_exc - g_inh + noise * Normal(0.0, 1.0) dv/dt = 0.04 * v^2 + 5.0 * v + 140.0 - u + I du/dt = a * (b*v - u) """, spike = """ v >= v_thresh """, reset = """ v = c u += d """ )

Thank you.

Best regards,

Sergey.

Hi,

g_exc and g_inh are the conductances (currents in this case) coming from excitatory and inhibitory synapses (if any projection is defined using the targets 'exc' and 'inh'). They are automatically incremented from the weight whenever a spike arrives at a synapse. This behavior is defined by the 'pre_spike' argument of the synapse: by default it is 'g_target += w'.

Hope that helps, feel free to ask further questions.

Best regards
Julien
