First run of thesis template

I just downloaded the thesis template from anna university website(aucfr-latextemplate1.0.zip). This is a new template updated on july 2015. To my surprise, I found the a number of errors(12 errors, 30 warnings and 20 bad boxes).

 

  I then googled for the errors. The \new dimen error is due to the presence of large number of packages. A possible solution is to include 

\usepackage{etex}

just below the  \documentclass line.
