Good idea starting a local group

So where do you fly? I've heard about some RC flying at Pontiac Lake
State Rec area, in White Lake/Waterford area.

BTW, I'm in Hartland, haven't crashed my helicopter anywhere besides
my backyard yet ;>).

I'm just starting out but thinking of flying here since I'm actually in Hamburg (I didn't think many people would know where Hamburg was).  I haven't really decided where yet since this was one of many things to figure out.

I've been thinking of flying RC/drones for fun (and possibly my next job; I currently work in IT in Southfield). I'm trying to find a Metro Detroit-area RC/drones G Group, do you know of one?

Anyway, the last time I flew an RC aircraft (lasted all of 20 sec - take off, stall, total crash!) it was in/out of Troy, Mich.

I've been down to Ann Arbor several times and have seen other folks flying RC aircraft. Not sure if it was you guys :)

I'm in Royal Oak, and have been struggling to find a place a bit larger to fly mu UAAV.  It's small and foam built so I have flown it under park flyer rules, but am in the process of adding more batteries for longer flights.  At the moment I have 10-15 minuets of flight time, the next battery addition will put it over the weight limits and I want a more open area as I test longer flight times in case of an motor overheat ect.
