Hi,

I have 2 instances that I need some help on.

I have had 2 accounts (bonds) that I have transferred the entire amount to a  different account when the bond matured.

Ex:

A to B and C to D

I have noticed that when I transfer the funds to the other account it simply shows as money transferred when I simply leave the old account (transferred from) active (not closed)

When I close the accounts that I have emptied it shows the amounts that was transferred as income. When I re-open the closed account it goes back to simply transferred and not shown as income.

This does not change the bottom line but I want to keep the empty accounts closed.

Any advice or explanation on what is happening ?

I'm using a Samsung tablet running 8. Having said that, this has been a problem for as long as I remember.

Thank you

Hi Gary

I can see the logic of this (though I don't have actual details of the code). I believe anMoney treats your assets as the total of all open accounts, and any addition to this total is income. So that's how it treats a transfer from a closed account. Conversely, a transfer to a closed account will report as an expense.

I have a few dormant accounts which I flag as not-favourite, and my main list of accounts shows only favourites. This technique might work for you.

HI Rick,

That seems to be the case. I'll do what you are doing and leave it at that. I was just trying to clean up some accounts that are closed and didn't understand what was happening.

How to flag accounts as non-favorite ?

Many thanks for the feedback...

If you view an account then go to Edit Account from the menu, in the options tab the first checkbox is Favourite.

Cheers
