Yes, really sad.....
Can you import the anMoney data to Bluecoins or did you have to re-enter all data completely ?
Thanks

To Bluecoins you can import data from AnMoney, but not the other way.

HI Octavio,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Do you mean export with Generic QIF ?
I don’t see an option in anMoney to export with .gif.
Thanks
I was planning to test out Bluecoins with an anMoney backup file. I went to find my AnMoney backup file, only to discover that my scheduled backup hasn't been running. Sadly, this seems to be an issue due to my backup location having been an external (SD card) on a previous phone, rather than internal storage. My current phone doesn't have an sd slot. I tried to modify the export location to an internal location, but it appears it will not save my configuration change in the settings for import/export. Without a local destination folder, export won't work. Has anyone else had this issue and, perhaps, a work around to get the export to work? Galaxy S23 User here.
Thank you!

My suggestion is that you export each account in .qif mode and then import it to Bluecoins. In this way you will have a little more work., but the result is good. Give us a feedback and good luck

Hi Sylvain,
Thank you for your response.
The issue I am currently having is that the current archive location is set to a location on an external SD card which no longer exists.
External storage is selected and corresponding subfolder detailed. If I choose "Path" and then key literally any local folder name (with or without a forward slash), once I click "OK", the interface goes back to my account listings, but the change from "External Storage" to "Path" with the new local directory has not been saved, and again it shows the current setup (External storage).
Due to this, I don't think installing a cloud storage app will help, unless the cloud storage folder (pCloud) that gets installed on the phone is considered an "external" folder, all be it virtual?
Is pCloud app something you installed after moving to a phone without external storage, or had you already been using this on your previous phone?
Can you show me a screen shot of your Archiving Setup screen above? Curious if it shows "External storage" or "Path" with your pCloud folder path.
Thank you!
Julie,
As I told you earlier, Bluecoins does not accept a backup file from An money. You will have to export account per account, separately, and each as a QIF file. Your backup is in your phone probably in android/anmoney/ as mine files are.
My dear Francesco. It's been over a year since I was forced to migrate to Bluecoins, after evaluating other apps and I don't remember the settings I used. My suggestion is that you try one account at a time and use the one that suits you best. Start with the simplest, I think it works best. If you can, bring us your feedback. Good luck

Hi Everyone,
I finally got back to this project. First, after fixing the file access permission on AnMoney, which must have changed during an update, my automatic backups resumed!
Yesterday I got to working on exporting .qif files and importing into Bluecoins. Here are my results:
I suggest:
Create the same account names in Bluecoins manually FIRST before trying to import. This made MAPPING automatic by Bluecoins!
On creating the export .qif file, I used the default date format month, day, year (settings, import/export) and chose MM/dd/yyyy in Bluecoins during the import. Other default settings in Bluecoins worked (utf-8) as this matched my default in anMoney export.
At first I had tested exporting accounts separately (or so I thought). First I exported 1 account (single checked account). Then I exported the second account to another file, but didn't realize until later that the check box for the first account was also still checked during the second import. This "accident" turned out to be good, as when I imported this second file into bluecoins, it did so successfully and created both accounts (this was before I learned to manually create the accounts in Bluecoins before import).
So...after seeing both accounts imported in, but not having a account to map to, I decided to create the accounts manually on the Bluecoins side first, and then tested exporting all accounts from anAmoney in one export. I did not check the single file check box in anMonday, as it wouldn't allow it. Nonetheless, checking all the accounts on the second page allowed all accounts to be exported into a single .qif file. So after exporting all accounts in 1 file, I went to Bluecoins and used the reset feature under Dashboard, Settings, Data Management. This cleaned out everything back to factory. Then I created all my accounts manually, naming them all exactly the same as in anMoney. It seemed to me that if the accounts were already there, maybe all the transfers would come in easier. I never tested importing all accounts in one file without having first created all the accounts manually. I only accidentally tested 2 accounts with no file mapping and I immediately decided to try having accounts to map to. I don't recall exactly what stood out to me, maybe allowing all accounts to be created on the fly would work the same as it did with having all accounts existing for mapping. I don't know.
Anyway, the single file from anMoney with all accounts and data from nearly 15 years imported 100% successfully!
These are the issues:
All Categories and subcategories are placed under a single ".qif" category. It's pretty ugly. I am manually renaming and moving them to other categories (this automatically movedls all transactions to the new category) . If you delete a category, you will be prompted where to move the existing transactions (you can click a button to see all soon to be affected transactions).
As for transfers:
The transactions show in both accounts. The only weird thing is the new transactions each have the name of the originating account as their "category" in brackets. No information is lost, it just looks a little different. Yes, all these [account name] Categories also exist under the ".qif" category. It's ugly, but not sure at the moment the best thing to do if I want to keep the source account "transfer" history.
Spilts also came in perfectly as well! You see a single transaction in Bluecoins and it shows "3 Categories" for example. Then click on the transaction, and you will see all the splits.
Suggestion: Cleanup your Categories in anMoney first (if you desire) it will make moving them out of the "qif" main category easier in Bluecoins.
I setup security in Bluecoins (pin and finger print is optional) and I setup backup (local and external to google).
There is also a widget for quick transaction entry. So far it seems to only be for a single account (whichever is setup as your default). It's not to difficult to change accounts, but I do like how I have separate widgets for each account w anMoney.
Reoccurring transactions will also need to be created manually. However, I may just do this as each occurs, as there is an option to "Schedule" the transaction when entering it which is actually a little
more intuitive than the separate section for this in anMomey.
So far, I am pretty pleased and plan to use both simultaneously, at least through a monthly account reconciliation, to see how it goes.
All in all, I think it's a good product, and the Dashboard visuals are really nice!
Feel free to ask any questions.
Julie
Great! Julie your message was a real lesson and must be saved. Do you try export an account or multiple accounts from Bluecoins? I think this is the only thing that's missing to me.
There isn't an export specifically. There is the local backup and cloud sync functions. Either way they create the .fydb file. After googling, I discovered it is a No-Sql Db format. On the same google, I found a link to a Python script for converting the Bluecoins file to .csv. I have no idea if it works or is legit. I did not try. I suspect it's not the only tool to convert such a file type.
I hesitate to paste the link here since I haven't done any vetting. If you google converting .fydb file to .csv I am sure you can find it too.
That's great news! So glad you found a converter and were able to solve the negative/positive issue!
I have been using both Bluecoins and anMonday for adding transactions. So far, it works quite well. Even though transaction entry has a single Widget (only one account), when you key in a Store, it immediately prepopulates with the account used for that same store on the previous transaction, so lack of separate account entry really makes no difference, and having one 1 widget is cleaner and faster for transaction entry.
O agree with You, but you have to pay attention on what account you are entering the expense. Bluecoins bring back the last entry per default, for example , a supermarket you go often, one day you pay with one credit card, the other you pay cash, so you must verify accurately wich account is being debited, otherwise you have to search were it goes. This is a little annoying, but is at it is..... I'm impressed that you are still able to run Anmoney in your phone. In mine(s) as they upgraded to android 14, can't run it anymore, unhappyly...
Thanks Julie,
That #3 would be a deal breaker
Let us hope someone, has a solution.
I am still running anmoney, on my Note20, but there is an upgrade in my future so this is all super relevant

Hi Everyone,
I am glad my post was helpful. I will try to contact Bluecoins and suggest a change to their reconciliation process. I will keep you all informed!
Dear Julie, that's my fear. I hope we are not experiencing another deception like AnMoney.

I meant to message last week, the same thing happened me. Thus far, entering transactions, minus changing the date, is still working. I just know I have to key it on the day, otherwise the transaction will have the incorrect date. :(
I have not yet done a reconciliation. I really hope it still works. The concern will be if we are able to enter transactions during reconciliation! I will update this thread when I try it out.

TLDR: Reconciliation still works! The only issue was adding a transaction with a past date (so I just added with current date and added notes in the memo with the correct date) OR a transaction that needed to have a different type than previous (Credit Vs. Debit). So I added it with the existing type, and edited the type AFTER adding it.
DETAILS:
I was able to pause reconciliation to go back and enter my reoccurring transactions which had not yet been auto entered.
I was able to get back into the reconciliation, no problem.
I added a transaction which was in the past. I was UNABLE to modify the date (caused the same error/freezing since recent Android update) that occurs keying any new transaction.
Additionally, this particular transaction I tried to key during reconciliation is usually a Debit, but this time it was a Credit. Once I changed it to a credit, I was unable to Add it, as it caused a similar error re: the Android version.
I was able to get out of that frozen screen by clicking the downward arrow at the bottom of my screen, as the Cancel or Continue button on the “New Transaction” interface screen were frozen and only caused the error to come up “anMoney isn’t optimized for the latest version of Android. Screen touches may be delayed or not recognized”.
Once getting out of the frozen screen, I continued to enter the transaction, but I just changed it back to the same type (Debit) and it added successfully. I then was able to edit the transaction and change it to the proper type.
I did notice that when NOT in the reconciliation process, if I added a transaction that was a different type for that same vendor, I was able to Check the Box to not verify this each time. By doing this, the next time I was in the reconciliation process and added a transaction of a different type for the same vendor, I never saw the error/frozen screen.
Editing a transaction AMOUNT during reconciliation worked as per usual.
All in all, pretty good newsI'm nowhere near to getting onto Android 15, but a thought on changing the date on a new transaction...
Does the arrow by the date field to step the date back a day at a time work?
