Editing Default labels for Transaction Pluses & Minuses

Am I deceiving myself....having moved to a different device I'm hesitating over whether it is possible to change the labels in a new transaction, e.g. in a bank account its either "payment" or "deposit"?  Its different for an Investment Cash Account or Other Asset type.

I thought it was possible to edit these labels to a personal preference, so replacing "Increase" and "Decrease" for example, but I can't find this in the settings menu or old online documentation?

Can someone put me right please - was this ever possible, or did I imagine it? Thanks
