You no longer need a huge music library to start DJing. The Party Mix II DJ controller works with Serato Lite DJ software, giving you access to streaming services like TIDAL, Beatport LINK, Beatsource LINK, and SoundCloud GO. A streaming DJ controller means that the hottest tracks are available at your fingertips for you to create your custom party playlist.
If you'd rather bring a phone or tablet to the party, the Party Mix II is also compatible with popular DJ mobile apps like djay PRO AI by Algorriddim. Just connect your mobile device to the Party Mix II by using a USB camera connection kit (sold separately) to get the party started.
Set the party atmosphere with a DJ controller with lights! The Party Mix II features three multi-colored LEDs with special wide-coverage lenses for a room-filling, beat-synchronized light show. The switch on the side of the controller allows you to turn the light show on and off whenever you like.
The Party Mix II has enough pro-grade features to handle virtually any party. The 1/8-inch main audio output allows you to hook up external speakers to bring your music to life while still monitoring the mix with the 1/8-inch headphone output connection.
Four performance pads on each deck allow quick access to cue points, loops, effects or samples. In addition to Play and Cue buttons on each deck, Sync buttons allow for the automatic tempo matching of two tracks for perfectly aligned mixes. Dedicated Filter knobs on each deck help add a pro-grade sound to your mixes, and the software-adjustable crossfader allows for sharp cuts for scratches or long, smooth fades for mixes.
The Party Mix II also features two large, high-quality jog wheels that respond to your touch and allow you to manipulate your music with style. You are going to love having all the professional DJ features that come with Party Mix. Each deck is ready with four cue points with readily-accessible pads for effects. You can toggle through the Pad Mode and find your auto loop functions and create loops on 8, 4, 2 and 1-bar phrases. You can add instant effects to your music and you can toggle through and find your sampler for access to pre-loaded samples and drums or add your own (4 on each side).

for a week i searched this forum and the internet for numark party mix II / live mappings for mixxx - i found some, but they all have shortcomings in terms of jog wheel / scratching and/or pad mode functionalities.
hot cue: they work great, you can set 4 hot cues at each deck.
to do 1: hot cues should be deleted when you press the pad mode button AND the corresponding hot cue number button. for now you still have to delete them via mixxx software (shift and mouse click).
to do 2: pads with set hot cues should flash.
effect: they work great, you can select up to 3 effects per deck via mixxx software for pad 1 to 3, plus dry/wet mode per deck on the 4th pad. so in sum you can use up to 6 effects (if you activate fx1 and fx2 in mixxx software) with the pads.
to do: pads with active effect should flash.
SCRATCHING:
jog wheel functionality and/or scratching is obviously a problem, as far as i found out so far.
to my knowledge the only numark party mixx II mapping which has full jog wheel AND scratching functionality is this one: GitHub - magtomm/MIXXX-Numark-party-mix-2: Numark PartyMix 2 MIDI controller mappings for Mixxx.
is it possible to only implement the full jog wheel / scratching functionality from this mapping into my above mentionend mapping? this would be great because then we would have a complete working mapping for the party mix II / live.
the jogwheel works when deck is running. it speeds up (or slows down) the song, but just a bit, which is ok for my purposes. you can adjust the jogwheel settings in the script, so that it speeds up (slows down) more.

Such quirks will be fun for a house party, but beginners seeking to improve their DJ skills may want more control over their mixes. That said, casual music lovers wanting an affordable and durable controller with a Serato DJ Lite license may not have to think twice about these compact decks.
Numark has given its Party Mix controllers a two-band parametric EQ and a high-pass/low-pass filter control on each channel. This is more than enough to get creative when blending tracks, but DJs would benefit from a three-band parametric EQ for more precise tonal control when making two tracks sit together.
Next to those transport controls are a bank of four performance pads that allow you to set hot cues, create loops up to two bars, trigger samples (including but not limited to air horns), or apply effects including reverb, delay, phaser, flanger and more. These simple pads provide lots of flexibility for both newbies and advanced users to build tension in a mix.
What would a party be without a light show? Both Party Mix controllers come with their very own. Albeit nothing more than three LED light balls on the back of the device, they can bring a bit of atmosphere to a dark room and would be well-received at a small party. The different programmes can be toggled via a button on the side or via the settings menu in Serato. Full disclosure: we had these on throughout our entire testing process, because why not?
Setting up the Party Mix controllers is easy. You can connect and power them with a laptop via USB and connect headphones and speakers via their respective mini-jack ports. Installing Serato DJ Lite is also no bother, just head to the website and enter the code that comes with the controller, then simply plug in and play.
Party Mix Live has all the same controls and features as the Party Mix II. The only differences are the addition of the stereo speaker, the slightly bigger size, and the need for a power supply. How does the speaker sound? Not amazing. At lower volumes, the audio has a slight punch in the low-end and is relatively pleasant in the high and high-mid frequencies, but it lacks clarity in the low-mid range.
