Cars spinning

We got the overdrive kit for christmas. When we first set it up we had a lot of fun an ran several races. The ground shock car begin to spin and run off the track. Tried cleaning wheels, track and making sure ties were on correctly. Finally called support and they sent us a new car. Have raved 25 times or so and had a great time. The new ground shock has begun to spin and skull now is very slow and usually cannot finish a race without problems. I feel like we are caring for the cars correctly and not sure how to proceed.
