Energy pack and recharge pack upgrades?

I’m buying a Christmas gift (collision) from the Anki website and it says it comes with a bonus “energy pack and recharge pack.” It does not look like a physical item, so I am wondering if it is a software upgrade. If so, is there a monetary value? For example, can you purchase the upgrade or do you earn it? I am just wondering what (if any) value it adds to the gift. If I purchase an expansion pack through Amazon, it does not come with this option. Since the person I am buying this for has many other Anki Overdrive items on his wishlist, I am just asking in case I find a better price (but no “free lute”) on Amazon! Thanks!

This is a digital (NOT physical) addition, and it can only be earned through game play, not purchased--except of course as the bonus you described.
