Blessings All,
I just purchased the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime DUO SM-G530H for my son to use with the Anki Drive starter kit and here are my findings thus far.

Before I purchased the phone, I took one of the cars with me to the store and told them that if they would allow the install of an app and it connects with this car through bluetooth, I would purchase the phone.

At first chance things did not look good because since it is not on the list, Google Play would not allow the install or show it in the store for the device. Then the store clerk decided to search for the apk file and found one to my amazement; however, it was not a good apk file.

I told him that I had a good on my 10 inch tablet that we can transfer and once again, to my amazement he allowed it.

After installing the apk, it connected immediately with the car and of course I am a man of my word so we purchased the phone.

We got home, got the track out and the other car. We tried to connect to the car once again and got connection fail several times. I was flabbergasted. I decided to delete the cache and data and try again. Once again, it connected to the car very quickly after entering my son's name again. Completed a solo practice race with no problems.

I then decided to see if we host a race with the new phone and try using one of our tab 3 7 inches with the old Android system and bluetooth but it still would not connect to the car. Also, the new phone would not connect once again to the car. After about 20 connection fails, I decided to delete cache and data and try again. The new phone reconnected to the car immediately once again, but the older tab 3 still would not.

After playing a solo race and trying to play a different race to select a different car, the new device started the connection failures again. Being persistent, I brought the car and phone close to each other. After about 10 to 15 tries of connection failures, it connected. After this, it would take anywhere from 3 to 10 times to connect.

A friend came over with a Galaxy S4 and were able to host a race with them and use the different racing modes, but the connection failures continued; actually on both phones; each taken 3 to 10 times of retries until connected.

I just downloaded the new beta version and will install on my devices to see how it works.

Hopes this helps.

God Bless,
Shawn

@Dinindu - Quick note: The beta and production versions of Anki Drive are the same right now. (We'll have a new beta coming up soon.)
We're fairly convinced there's a networking issue going on in this specific case. One tipoff is that the app is typically very stable/ robust on the S4. Shawn has other posts and we've also worked together off-line on these issues.

Really appreciate you jumping in though--I love to see that!!
