In the original Anki 1.0 I could generate cards by simply clicking both the 'front' and 'back' of the cards within the generate menu, but now that I have made the switch to Anki 2.0, I can't seem to figure out how to do so. I rely heavily on that tool, so if someone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!

Hello,

In Anki 2.0 there is no option to generate cards because cards are always generated automatically.

Have a look at the section named "Card Generation & Deletion" in http://ankisrs.net/docs/dev/changes.html.

Hope this helps,

So, both sides of cards will be available for reviewing? My cards only allow me to review front and back and not back and front.

I think in Anki 2 (desktop) the reverse card template is not created by default.
In that case, you will have to create the card template if you need it.
You might want to check if the reverse template actually exists.

You can do so by clicking "Add" and then click on "Cards" and use the "+" button at the top-right corner.
This should create a new Card type (probably named Card 2) and you can then use "Flip Front/Back" to make this a reverse card.
You can rename it using the "More" button at the bottom.

Not sure if this what is happening in your case, but it is worth checking whether you have a reverse card type.
