You will be asked to make a full sync and pick which copy you want whenever the client discovers major discrepancies between the local collection and the AnkiWeb collection. You will be told explicitly that it is going to happen and you will be asked which version you want to keep (keep local version and overwrite AnkiWeb, or keep AnkiWeb and overwrite local version). You'll get a confirmation box just be extra sure as well. So in your case, tap the sync button on AnkiDroid then tell it to keep local version (upload to AnkiWeb) when asked.

Also, AnkiDroid makes a backup of your collection once a day and Anki desktop makes a backup every time you sync. Both store them in the "backup" directory in their respective folders. You can copy these files somewhere safe before doing anything so you can be confident you won't lose data.

Been using solely AnkiDroid (never opened AnkiWeb or Desktop before today) for a month or so to review cards in a previously created publically shared deck.  Like the software, decided today to upload some cards I've written.

Installed Anki Desktop, imported my file, looks good.  Wanting to get that deck into AnkiDroid, I sync AnkiWeb and Desktop.  In all my bumbling noobish-ness, I suppose I selected the wrong sort of sync - now the deck I've been using through AnkiDroid for the past month does not show up on AnkiWeb.  It does still show up on AnkiDroid - but I'm concerned that it may not stay - I'm not really clear on which Anki interface overwrites the others - if any automatic overwriting happens at all.  Also, I'd like for all three interfaces to show both decks...

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
