Do you mean each card is repeated? If you upload your collection.anki2 file here I can take a look at it.

> Importing decks gives some weird questions like "Do you want to replace or add the database file"
You should always answer "add" here. This will be fixed in the next version of AnkiDroid.

This feature will be implemented at a later point.

Perhaps you have a misunderstanding about the word "solution"... The definition is "A means of solving a problem or dealing with a difficult situation". Using AnkiDesktop sounds like a solution to me...
Seriously though, AnkiDroid is primarily an app for enhancing Anki Desktop by allowing reviewing on your Android device. It would be nice if other useful features that are available on the desktop are available on AnkiDroid, but this is not its primary purpose.

as I understand that there is no way of using the previous version
This is false. You can use the old version of AnkiDroid without restriction, you just won't be able to use the sync function of AnkiWeb for much longer. If you have a problem with this, take it up with Damien (the developer of Anki/AnkiWeb)

You were "forced" to upgrade only by your own settings in Google Play. AnkiDroid has no control over whether your updates are installed automatically. As per above, feel free to use the old version.
As I already said, AnkiDroid is predominately a client for reviewing your Anki flashcards. Damien made the decision to completely rewrite Anki (which I believe was a good decision), and so it was also necessary to rewrite AnkiDroid.

If you need support with individual issues on the new version then please post here rather than just writing a huge open letter of complaint.

Hello,
Excuse me for my lack of skills and knowledge, but there are several issues I came across as "average user".
Whenever I try to import shared decks from AnkiWeb to desktop version and to ankidroid, I get twice the cards that there are normally in the deck. What should I do?
Also, My Ankidroid basically doesn't work, it's broken. Most of my friends using anki to study also stopped using it. As it is, time needed to get it half-working is exceeding the time spent on studying.
one of these problems would include the problem mentioned at the beginning, and others, such as:
mporting decks gives some weird questions like "Do you want to replace or add the database file", where replacing it shuts down the anki...
Even though there are many fields for input, it still shows them in just two fiels in output, and the answer in FAQ "there is no way to do that, use ankidesktop" is not a solution.
Generally, it's a huge leap backwards. And it's broken.

I don't mean anything bad - I was always your fan, and using anki happily, everyday in my study, but right now I feel sad and disappointed, as I understand that there is no way of using the previous version, and the new one is just broken.
It's just that I don't like the fact of forcing to use a new version, and abandoning a working one. I literally lost a powerful tool of obtaining knowledge.
There are so many bugs, that I don't think it's possible to fix them all. You're just losing users everyday, look at the reviews at google play.
I don't want to sound impolite or giving unreasonable negative input, but I'm just a simple user, and I don't want to fix it myself - I don't have the time, patience and skills required to do it, simple as that.
I appreciate the time you guys spent on this project, but for me, it's a disaster, and that's where the urge to criticize comes from.
Sorry to write in such a chaotic way, but English is not my native language. I hope that you guys don't take it too personally. I just think that the final release came too early.
