new cards not showing in order

Hi:

The computer program works fine, but on Android, the new cards do not show in order added. Shared decks that I've used do show in order, but the deck that I made won't show them in order. I double checked to make sure that I entered them in proper order (I'm using Heisig I for Japanese), and they just aren't.

Is this a bug, or what am I doing wrong?

Thank you!

Jessica

If you check the new cards section of the deck options for the deck, that is where the show order is determined -- in order, or random. Perhaps that's the issue.

Thanks, but the setting is correct--in order. Any other ideas? Would love to used Android instead of computer for this. Thank you.

1 - Run Check database from the menu and see if that does anything.
2 - If you toggle the setting (change it to random then back to in-order again), does it fix it?

If neither works can you send me your collection so I can have a look?

I believe, but could be wrong, that just changing the setting doesn't take effect until you reschedule the cards. Then it will. I know how to reschedule on anki desktop, but I think support may have been added to ankidroid.

It takes effects immediately. The order of new cards is predetermined and changing the setting will rebuild those values.

Hi:

Neither of those quick fixes--setting to random, logging out, resetting to in order, nor the "check database" worked. How do I email a collection?

If I reschedule the cards, do I have to do it manually?

Houssam, I've followed the instructions to email you the deck. Thank you for taking the time.

Actually, I'll just attach it in case anyone else has input.

Appreciate it.

There is an Export menu item that lets you export the collection. It will ask you if you want to email it once it's done.

Is the deck you attached the one you created yourself that has the problem?

Yes, that's the deck. Do you still want me to email?

Thanks!

Yes, please send it.

The file you emailed to me was the deck again, not the entire collection (it should be collection.apkg). I had a look at the deck itself and it seems to work correctly for me. Both on the desktop and AnkiDroid, the new card order follows the creation date and they appear in the same correct sequence on both devices. There is nothing wrong with the deck.

Have you tried doing a full sync of the collection from the desktop? See if that fixes things for you. (Tools -> Preferences -> Network -> On next sync, force changes in one direction).

Houssam:

Thank you; I don't know how or why but that worked. I swear it didn't look like that before! But that was the solve. Thanks for your time :)
