Hi,

I recently had a bit of an Anki hiatus and as a result have a large backlog, which I am clearing using the method suggested on the Anki help page of having a filtered deck that only shows cards due in the next 7 days. It's great, but the problem is I use Anki for two languages, and the filtered deck takes from both of them. So when I see an English word I have no idea whether it's the reverse of a Turkish or Japanese card, which slows me down and is confusing. It's not a massive issue, but I feel like there should be an easy way to just switch the font colour of one whole deck so I can easily recognise which deck the cards belong to. At the moment I can only find out how to change the font colour card by card, or for all new cards in a deck, but not for all existing cards in a deck.

Thanks for you help

Why not creating 2 filtered decks, one for each language?

Because I haven't worked out how to restrict a filtered deck to a single deck If you know how to do that, I'd be very grateful to learn.

You just have to modify the search parameter of the filtered deck from 'prop:due<t ' to 'prop:due<7 deck:NameOfDeck'. The search automatically assumes that you are searching for the ones which are due for less than 7 days AND belong to the deck 'NameOfDeck'. If you need to include more than one deck, use parenthesis and 'OR' between each deck 'prop:due<7 (deck:deck1 OR deck:deck2). The manual has more detail on it.

If you want to change the color of the front of the cards of one deck, you can create a new note type, e.g. CardJapanese, and modify the font color for it. You also need to change the note type of those cards on the card browser. https://apps.ankiweb.net/docs/manual.html#card-styling (The manual also has a video about that). It might be easier to do it on the desktop version than on the mobile.
