I used to be able to mark cards that were difficult for me and study only those cards. Is this still possible with 2.0? If it is I sure cannot find a way to do it.

When you are reviewing there should be an empty white box icon in the top right corner. This toggles marking of cards.
To review only those cards which are marked you have to create a filtered deck with "is:marked"  as the search query.

Thank you for that information. Previously Anki was much more user friendly, it's very complicated now. Also in order for me to sync to my tablet I have to set my tablet's date and time as incorrect for my location. I'll keep trying the filtered deck method and see what I can do about the date/time issue.

Which timezone are you in, and where do you have to set it to get sync to work?

Technically I'm in GMT+2 but I'm in a CIS country that didn't participate with the time change last Fall. That threw devices off that wanted to adjust automatically. I have to set my tablet settings to automatic which is one hour behind to make the "off by 3229 seconds" error go away. Well Spring will be here soon maybe that will fix it all!
