Hi,

When reviewing decks on my android phone, 50% of my cards are just some text, which appears centered. The other 50% of my cards have pictures + text, with the picture in the middle and the text at the bottom of the screen. I have made all my pictures of a certain size and height x width ratio such that the pictures take up nearly all the space, and the small amount of text can also fit at the very bottom without having to scroll to see it all.

I would like to control the vertical alignment of the displayed card contents. If I could always have it align towards the bottom (or I could work with having it always at the top), it would minimize my eye movement. Presently, with everything centered, I have to move my eyes a lot up and down to read the text, which tires out my eyes. I've looked around and can't find any way to do it.

If you untick the center align in preferences, it should align everything to the top.

If you want everything at the bottom you'll need to follow this instruction in card template which you'll have to edit on Anki desktop version.

Thanks, I found the setting to change. On the android phone, it was under the main Preferences menu, then Reviewing, and then a check box about half way down. It seems like the option should have been under "Display". This will put the text at the top, which is fine. I'll have to do a little editing with the card setup, but that's fine. I just want the text to be either all at the top, or all at the bottom.

The settings have been made much more clean in the latest 2.2 alpha, so that will be fixed in the next version!

We get the whole reviewing vs display category confusion a lot -- certainly a candidate for making less misleading. Don't know if that's part of the prefs changes or not.

Well, you know you could just open the spreadsheet (or the latest alpha) and look lol :-p
