Batch import media files...is it possible?

I hope this isn't on the forum already. I looked everywhere...

I want to create an excel file in which I can put images and words 
(and potentially audio) which I would then want to import into Anki. From what I can gather it does not seem that this is possible as it needs to be a txt/utf-8 type file in order to work on import. Is it possible to have a master file with pictures that I can import with the words that I want so that I do not need to create the cards individually?
