I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 1, Android 4.1.2, Ankidroid version 2.3.2.
The enable/disable whiteboard option that should be in main -> settings -> reviewing does not appear.
I see "whiteboard" in the list and there are the options "stroke width" and "black strokes". I can modify them.
To further clarify, I took a screenshot that is attached.

There also is no other whiteboard option that I could find on any other menu.

To be sure I deleted local data and after this did not solve the problem uninstalled and reinstalled ankidroid which also did not solve the problem.
I have never before tried to use the whiteboard and therefore I do not know if it would have worked in previous versions.

I would be very grateful if someone could point out if this is a bug (maybe related to the device) or if I overlooked something.

Hi it's now enabled directly from the study screen:

Thanks to your answer I went and had a look at the study screen again. I already read about an extended menu bar, but not how to access it which was actually quite obviously by pressing the menu/options "hardware" touchbutton in the lower left corner of the phone. I feel like I must have been blindfolded earlier...

Perhaps this could be integrated a bit more inuitively? Anyways, thank you for pointing out the place to look at.

Newer Android devices do not have a hardware menu button; the menu is integrated more intuitively into the action bar.
